Jarrell opened
Jimmy's Car Stereo in
1976. Their goal was
to offer name brand,
top quality car stereos
at the best possible
price. Business was
good at their small
odginal location
across from Glen(Jean
Drugs, "We sold alot
of CB radios back in
those days," Jimmy
said, "Maybe even
more CB's than car
stereos with 8-track
tape players and the
new cassette tape
stereos."
Jimmy's Car Stereo had to
move a few times over the years,
each time to a larger location,
before settling in at their current
home on ~e ~li~ ~ad
across from Dyas Chevrolet.
"We bought this complex to have
room for an inventory large
enough to provide practically
everything a customer could
want," Jimmy said. The former
Gentry Village Shopping Center
is now home to Jimmy's Car
Stereo and Speaker Showroom
and several other business, but
Jimmy's takes up over half shop-
ping center.
.The ~siness has also grown
beyond Aubum. In addition to the
Aubum location, Jimmy's has a
location in Columbus, Georgia,
two locations in Montgomery, one
in Birmingham, and a brand new
Jimmy's opens soon in Atlanta,
Georgia. =God has truly blessed
us, =says Pat Jarrel.
Jimmy admits that Pat is the
glue that holds their business
together.
