Macon County Retired Teachers The Macon County Retired Teachers organization will hold its first meeting at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Thursday, Sept. 19, at noon. Tuskegee Local Alumni Club The Tuskegee Local Alumni Club will meet Sunday, Sept. 22 at the clubhouse on Chambliss Street at 3 p.m. Former students and gradu- ates are invited. The clubhouse is located directly behind the University Bookstore. Diabetes Health Education Living with Diabetes Health Education series is scheduled each first Friday of the month from noon-1 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Adrianne C. Lee, R.N., M.S.N., is facilitator. Tuskegee City Planning Commission The Tuskegee City Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996, at 5 p.m. in the Gomillion Building. A public hear- ing will be held on the following requests for zonings: Application No. 96-1 to rezone lots 173, 174 and 175, Webb Subdivision, Willow Park, located at the South end of Webb Street, Tuskegee, Alabama from R-1 to R-3. Application 96-2 to zone 1.5 acres of land located at Old Columbus Road to B-1. AAUW-Tuskegee Branch The American Association of University Women, Tuskegee Branch, will hold a Full- Membership Roundup, Sunday, Sept. 22, at 3 p.m. at the Tuskegee University Alumni House. FFA and 4.H Steer Show Participants Now's the time to select your calf for the 1997 FFAC and 4-H Steer Show. The steer should be on grain feed by Oct. 1, 1996 and remain on feed until the county show in March. For more information on the County Steer Show, please call John S. Pulliam at 727-0340. Tuskegee-Macon YMCA After School Program The Tuskegee-Macon County YMCA is now accepting applica- tions for its After School Program. The Program cost is $20 per week for Tuskegee-Macon County YMCA members and $45 per week for non-,members (membership fee $40). The YMCA provide a well- rounded educational program as well as snacks and recreation. Sign up at Abbott Park Center befi)re the available slots are gone. Links Walk-A-Thon The qhaskegee Chapter of tim Links, Inc. is sponsoring its 2nd Annual Walk-A-Thon on the cam- pus of Booker T. Washington High Sctmol Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9- 11 a.m. Registration fee for stu- dents and seniors is $5 and adults is $10. Proceeds will be used total- ly to support the national and local YMCA and MCCRR service pro- jects. Search for Ms. Senior Alabama 1997 The Macon County RSVP is searclfing for senior citizens age 60 and above to run for Ms. Senior Alabama 1997. Contestants must have been residents of the area that they represent for a minimum of three months. They must be of good moral character and shall possess talent, poise, personality, intelligence, charm and that inde- finable thing called inner beauty, stemming from life's experience and be a citizen of the United States. The talent could be singing, dancing, playing a musical instru- ment, performing a dranmtic read- ing, displaying art work, fashion design, reading original poetry, writing, or giving a talk on a spe- cial subject.
